Quilting

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Soon It will be getting to be that time of the year again…sipping on pumpkin spice lattes!

This is a sweet pattern for fall decorating and I fell in love with this fabric, so fun!

Heres my ETSY shop.

Heres the pattern from Buttermilk Basin.

Here’s the Pumpkin Spice Latte Fabric.

So this isn’t my designs no pattern but I will share how I quilted it.

I used wool for the design. I also used Moda grunge Metropolis Iron fabric for the chalkboard. Actually it was perfect for this use. Buttermilk Basin did a whole chalk it up series. I have a couple other patterns that I might do .

When I starting making my plan for quilting the I really wanted something simple and something that reflected the design elements. The fabric is fairly busy all alone. I used a dark charcoal thread . On the chalkboard itself I just did a bigger meandering all over getting into the small spaces as well.

I know it’s hard to see but on the little half square triangles I just did a continuous circle. They are totally not perfect but thats ok. I actually did a half circle from the bottom to the  top of each half square triangle. Continue up each half square and then when you reach the top come down and finish the circle. Your using the little block as a guide. I actually think that making the circle once you come to the next half square you actually cross to the other side and do the half circle, so right side then left, right left, etc.

For the border I made spirals that look like steam rolling. They climb up and spiral to the left and then to the right. You start by making a long stem that curls into a spiral, curve around and then back out. you must travel back down to the stem somewhere. It gives you a guide to follow back up and then curve the other way.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and sweet fall project, make something great today! Colleen
